I'm so goddamn sick of people promising me things and then going back on, or worse, forgetting their promise. There were a ton of people that were originally going to go with me to the football game yesterday, then backed out because they had too much homework. That's fine and all, but don't tell me you're going to go if you know that you won't be able to. Only one person showed up, one out of seven.

This isn't the first time this has happened. I have been refused a trip to Europe, had to make last minute calls to find someone to go with me to a play b/c someone backed out, had to sit at home b/c the person I was supposed to spend my weekend with couldn't do it, waited by my phone for a call that would never come, I could continue on for a long time.

This doesn't seem like that big of a deal, but it hurts me terribly. It feels as if I've done something wrong or I'm not important enough. It's even worse when all I get is a dry "I'm sorry", only to hear it again a week later from the same person. I seem to be the only person who believes in loyalty any more.

To everyone else, enjoy your friendships. I have been let down one too many times to enjoy or want them at all anymore.
